I did get to see some fireworks out the window last night. Hampton shot off theirs last night on Tuesday. I noticed it because the dogs all started barking. They usually shoot them off over the lake so you can generally see them pretty well from our house. People park all along our gravel road when they start going off. I remember the kids would sometimes pull the pickup truck down to the bottom lane and bring blankets and pillows down there and lay in the back of the truck to watch them. The big tree by the bottom pasture sometimes blocks the view but down in that lane they're clear as a bell. so..... I clicked a couple pics so I can remember if I'm not here for future 4ths.
Today is the big Humboldt Parade. We've never ridden in that one before. It starts at 7pm. We have a full parade team lined up so I'm really excited ..... but it's 105 heat index out there. It's stifling. I sure hope everybody will be ok. There doesn't seem to be any breeze at all. We're leaving here around 4 or 4:30ish to go wash the truck and head over so we can be there really early and not have to worry about hurrying to get ready. If anyone lives over that way -- come and say HI! I'll be posting pics later ......
